Who we are

Septic Service and Plumbing in One Call

Palm Beach County counts more than 51,000 homes on septic. Jojo Septic works on the septic system in the yard and the plumbing inside the house. The two are tied together.

The EPA says one leaky or running toilet can add as much as 200 gallons of water a day. All of that water ends up in the septic system, so plumbing repair can be septic care too. When a toilet backs up, the cause can sit in the house drains or out at the septic system. We work on both, so one call gets the whole problem looked at.

About half the homes in Lake Worth Beach were built before 1970, Census estimates show. For a home that needs new pipes, we take on whole house repiping. When a bathroom gets redone, we handle its plumbing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Septic and Plumbing Service

Answers before you call Jojo Septic.

Call (561) 239-5838

How often should a septic tank be pumped in Florida?
The EPA and the state's environmental agency both say every three to five years for most homes. Household size and tank size change the timing. So does the amount of wastewater and solids a home sends down the drains. When pumping gets skipped, waste can back up into the home, the University of Florida extension service says.
What should I do if my toilet backs up?
Stop flushing and use as little water as you can. Keep people and pets away from any sewage. Then call or text (561) 239-5838 and describe what you see. Emergency septic service covers that urgent call, whether the trouble is in the septic system or the plumbing.
What are the signs of a septic problem?
The EPA names backups and slow drains as common signs of a failing septic system. Sewage odors or damp spots near the tank are on its list too. So is bright green, spongy grass over the drainfield, even in dry weather. If you see any of these, call or text about septic tank repair.
How long does a septic system last?
The EPA says a septic system over 25 to 30 years old is likely near the end of its life. It suggests planning an upgrade before the old system fails. When a system needs replacing, septic system installation is part of our work.
Does septic work need a permit in Florida?
A new septic system and a septic repair both need a permit first, under section 381.0065 of the Florida Statutes. Routine septic tank pumping does not count as a repair under the state rule. In Palm Beach, Broward, Martin and St. Lucie Counties, the county health department issues septic permits. That office can tell you whether your job needs one.
Do you handle plumbing work too?
Yes. Plumbing repair is part of our work, and so is whole house repiping. On a bathroom job, we handle the supply and drain lines and hook up the fixtures.
How does pricing work?
We price each job after we look at it. On septic tank pumping, the size of the tank and how easy the lid is to reach both matter. On whole house repiping, the size of the home matters. Call or text (561) 239-5838, and the quote comes to you in writing before any work starts.
What areas do you serve?
Lake Worth Beach sits at the center of our service area, which reaches about 50 miles around it. In Palm Beach County, that covers West Palm Beach, Wellington, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton. In Broward County, it takes in Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Coral Springs, Margate and Fort Lauderdale. To the north, it reaches Stuart in Martin County and Port St. Lucie in St. Lucie County.
How do Lake Worth Beach soils affect a septic system?
Much of Lake Worth Beach sits on deep, fast-draining sand, USDA soil maps show. USDA soil ratings note that wastewater can pass through that sand too fast to filter well. Lower ground near Lake Osborne and the canals has wetter soils with a higher water table. Florida's septic rule keeps a drainfield at least 24 inches above the wettest-season water table.
